Beware of Promises When Buying Products on the Internet.

Buying on the Internet is always a harrowing experience. At least for those who are fairly new at it.

First you're not sure if you should give that information and credit card number or not. You click on the link and read and just when you're about to fill in the form you click out...

Depending on how much you want that product that's being offered, the experience intensifies as you go back and forth wondering if you'll be giving personal information to an unknown recipient, or if you'll have problems of any sorts, or if the whole process will work at all.

What about the promises? The offer says it's guaranteed! "If you're not entirely satisfied, we will refund your money in full". With that in mind, you go ahead and dare. When you get your products, you breath a sigh of relief.

But, what about if you get the product and find it's not working like it said it would, or like you expected?

3. Information, Education, Inspiration, Motivation...

Starting an Internet Business Overview.

OK, you've been toying with the idea of starting an Internet business. What's involved? Where do you begin? What's it all about?

I've put together a brief overview of it and I will continue giving you snap-shots of the process of development over the next issues of the newsletter.

Overview:

_1_ First of all you need to know what your business will be. You may already know this, you may not. But you need to know once you decide to get started (more on that later).

_2_Secondly, no matter what your business may be, the key to any Internet business is to get TRAFFIC.

How do you get traffic? By delivering excellent CONTENT that attracts traffic through the search engines' targeted keywords.

How do you deliver excellent content and traffic? By relating it to the theme of your business.

_3_Thirdly, you need to PRESELL not sell. Unlike a physical store-front where people drive to and enter in order to buy the product/service it offers, the Internet business offers information.

People don't go there to buy. They go there to get information. So you can offer them a page that says Buy this product. You have to answer their question about your business theme which is what attracted them in the first place.

How do you PRESELL? By becoming warm about your information offerings; by proving that you're the person they can trust to give them what they are looking for. Your visitors will be motivated due to your excellent Content and your knowledge of the information they want.

_4_Fourthtly, how do you generate income or MONETIZE? Through a variety of monetization models such as products or services and e-products, sprinkled throughout your excellent content, through clicks to Google ads, affiliate links, etc.

So the model for a successful Internet business is CONTENT=>TRAFFIC=>PRESELL=>MONETIZE -- never the other way around.

I'll have more on each of these 4 points in the next issues on how to get started.

But, if you're in a hurry to start an Internet Business, if you're ready now you can go to this link.

Or if you're still at the investigating stage of the possibility of starting an Internet business, I strongly suggest you click here and signup for my Free Special Report which will take you to other free access links on the subject.

4. A bit of History...

An entrepreneur in 1843...

William Cornelius Van Horne was a railway builder who was born in January of 1843, near Joliet Illinois and died in Montreal in September 1915. He started working at age 14 as a telegraph boy on the Illinois Central Railroad. By 1880 he was manager of the Milwaukee Road, where he caught the eye of the CPR syndicate, who appointed him General Manager on Oct 1, 1882.

Van Horne built the Winnipeg-Calgary section of the line by Aug 1883, and completed it to Port Moody by 1885. Three years later he replaced George Stephen as President. In 1901 he inaugurated the Canadian Pacific Empress line of steamships to the Orient.

Van Horne was an accomplished amateur painter and architect, and helped plan the Banff Springs and Chateau Frontenac hotels.

Other Entrepreneurial efforts in History

1815 - The world's first commercial cheese factory was established in Switzerland.

5. Books & Web Sites Review...

This month's book I'd like to mention is one that I bought a few weeks ago and found very helpful. It's called "The Everything Online Business Book" - Use the Internet to build your business" by Rob Liflander.

Although it is not exhaustive by any means, it covers in a simple and easy to read presentation how to define the goals and objectives of your new online business; the business rules of the online world versus the real world; how to create attention and draw traffic to your site; what you need to know about hardware, software and Web site building tools; how to understand security issues and how to protect your Web site.

It has many basic HTML codes that I was able to find quickly to add to my web pages building -- like font sizes, colors, indentation, etc.

You can check it out at the following link and read more about it.

Here's another book that I highly recommend

If you haven't read it already, this is a classic business book for self-motivation: "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People" by Stephen R. Covey. I read it many years ago when it first came out but it has always been a book that I refer to often for powerful lessons in personal improvement and change...
