My reason for getting into a homebased internet business

I've been in business for many years (too many! - but I love business). I won't get into my business history because it's already covered in the About HRC on the navigation bar.

It was in 2001 that I started to really look at the internet business opportunities offered by the fascinating world of cyber net. I had used the web to keep sites as marketing tools for my offline businesses, but to get into a fully dedicated work at home internet business began when a big change in my life drove me to look at it on a higher and more direct level of home business internet activities.

Forced Change of life

In the year 2000, my husband had the misfortune of having a stroke. It was devastating for both of us and it changed our life forever. After the initial turmoil and the shock, life began again. The good news here, is that Harold did recover substantially from his initial full right side paralysis to only the right arm and hand and the right side of his face, and a speech problem. He's been on rehab since and goes to regular therapy groups.

As a result of that, we needed to make some changes in our life, and one of these changes was to get away from the hectic life of the big city to a more peaceful environment. Harold had a brother who lived in Campbell River, BC, and we began to talk about moving there. We knew of this place at the other end of the country since we had previously visited a couple of times.

The big move

So one day we made the big move from Toronto, Ontario to the small community on Vancouver Island.

What a change! I used to get a lot of business opportunities around the Greater Toronto Area through contract work as well as my own business services. Here, I soon found out that, of course there were not the kinds of large businesses that exist in Ontario. I tried various approaches to offer my services here but opportunities were slim for one reason or another to do with the small community culture.

Homebased internet business

So that got me asking “How can I optimize the opportunities in such a smaller community?”

Well, you're probably already guessing it. Indeed, e-commerce, internet business. And since I was already operating from a home office, in particular, a homebased internet business.

So I began to get into it in a big way, searching everything I could on the subject of internet business or homebased internet business. If you've read this web site's home page, I refer to a lot of the activites that people looking into internet business possibilities go through. But I won't expand on this process now, I already have a page on this site about that.

So that's how I ended up where I am today.
