8 Steps to Starting an Internet / Affiliate Business.
Does building an Internet business or affiliate Internet business sound overwhelming? Here are 8 steps to start an internet business in the best internet business way possible... 8 Steps to Starting an Internet / Affiliate Business... 1. Get Started!By reading this, you're already on your way to Step 1. 2. Find your niche.Do you know what your niche is already? Do you know the type of business you want to be in? If not begin to write down what you like -- business, hobbies, special knowledge... What do you know best that you can write information about -- because the Internet business is really all about writing. Writing information that people are looking for on the Internet. 3. Research your niche.Research the terms to do with the niches you listed in Step 2. You can go to http://www.pixelfast.com/overture/ and enter search terms to see how many searches are made of each one. It will also give you a list of other phrases that people use related to the word(s) you entered. Compare which are most popular. If your niche is so narrow that only a few folks search for it, you will not have enough to build a business on. So find terms that at least a few thousand people are looking for. More on this at the links below.
4. Find Affiliate merchant products. Once you decide the type of business/information you will provide, do a search of related products that would be available to offer for sale on your web site. Only look for reputable affiliate merchants for this who have lifetime commission program. More about this here.
5. Set Goals. What do you want to do? Don't quit your day job yet because building a web site that will bring monetary returns takes time. You will not make hundreds of dollars a month, or thousands, in the first few weeks. So make sure you have enough money coming in from other sources. But do make a plan of what you need to have in order to satisfy your financial need. Then work on building your web business toward that. For more information on this, see this page for info on my Business Plan 101 and 201 e-books.
6. Build your site.Once you know what you want to offer to the Internet, start building your web site. You'll need a hosting service. Many have the templates to build your pages, etc. See links below for what I recommend. The key to building a successful site will be to give each of your pages relevant search terms that people search for and then include information-rich content that your visitors will want to read. Then interspersed within your content you will have related links to your products or service. Again you'll see more on all of this at the links below.
7. Continue Building and Tweaking. From here, you continue to add pages, check their performance on the traffic tracking feature of your hosting service, tweak them for search terms and search engine maximization, optimize on your most popular pages. Submit them to directories. Write articles to submit to e-zines with your resource box at the end for people to click on to your site. Add reciprocal links to build more traffic... Continue to build theme pages which is the key to search engine recognition. And continue to learn more tricks to add to your optimization of search engine results. 8. Watch your site grow.Building an Internet business is a continuous effort. As it builds up and grows, your traffic will also build up. You should watch for your pages to start hitting at least 100 visitors a day before you can expect significant sales. Check your Alexa Ranking and watch for it to grow to within the 500,000 rank.
This is just a summary to give you an idea of what to expect in the building of an Internet Business. If you want to get further details, I'm giving you some links below which will get into more details and other links to follow and which will tell you everything you need to know including my recommendation for a complete system that has proved itself indispensable.
