I've been on the internet for many years. I was on amazon.com before they even came out with the advantage and market place programs. You just went on and entered your book in the list and that was it. Now it's a whole different thing. That's how long I've been using the net!

I looked at many web hosting packages in those days and found one that I stuck with even till this day on another web site. It is limited in features and facilities, so it is not for the kind of web sites that we have today. So I've always been looking for what's available out there for various applications.

Today, one needs a lot more than the early days of net marketing. So we need to look for a web hosting service that will offer at least the necessary integrates, such as,

Web Building:

Once upon a long time, anybody getting on the net had to find a web page building program. I remember when I was looking for my first -- and that's many years ago (I hate to admit it), and I tried all kinds. Some of them were very simple and limited. One day I came across a program by IBM called TopPage which gave me quite a lot of features and flexibility. And I've used it since. If you mention the name to anyone today, nobody's heard about it. But it's still working.

But, like web hosting, today, web building is a whole different ball game. Now, many companies offer complete web site building in one package. I even came across one recently that was all built for you with all the bells and whistles complete with even affiliate products included right in, fully ready to go!

However if you want to build your own, and you have a specific product, service, information in mind that you want to provide, you don't buy into these ready-made options.

But you do need something that will give you up-to-date tools that should be simple to operate -- click of the button -- yet powerful and fully integrated. Here are some of the things to look for:

Web Marketing:

Web hosting, web building services stop at that. They do not have web marketing, or at the very least they may have some tools provided for accessibility.

So in this area of marketing, you are on your own. Yet it is most required as part of web site managing.

Most folks that start a web site give up soon because they don't get the traffic that allows them to turn their web site into a money making business. By money making I mean the business has to pay for itself and for a salary or two - if it is a home business. If it is a "business" internet business it has to pay for whatever staff you've employed as well. If it doesn't make money, it's not in business. Period.
